Growing up, I always looked forward to summer because I got totravel home and spend some quality time with family and friends. It was truly the best time to unwind after a long year and just let loose a little.
So to get you ready for the fun times ahead, here are 28 super fun activities to add to your summer bucket list so you can make the most of the sunny season!

1.Go on a nature hike
If you’re into hiking, make a list of some trails you’d like to explore and why not check one out every weekend?
2. Have a picnic

Take advantage of the sun and lovely weather and plan a little picnic with friends at the park or a beach.
Pack a basket wit your favorite meals and treats and take the afternoon to just chill, people watch, share the latest gossip…whatever floats your boat!
3. Go to a local farmers’ market
Depending on where you live, you probably have a lot more options for farmers’ markets in the summer.
It’s the perfect opportunity for you to support local farmers and sample some yummy, fresh produce to add to your recipes this season.
4. Take a day trip to a nearby town
Plan a simple day trip by yourself or with friends.
Pick a place close to you that you’ve been wanting to explore for a while and make a little adventure out of it.
To make it exciting? Come up with a list of places, close your eyes and just pick one at random!
5. Barbecue time!
Summer is the perfect time for a nice little barbecue with friends and fam.
Throw something delicious on the grill, put on some music and enjoy that quality time with your loved ones.
6. Have a beach day
Whoever says summer, says BEACH DAYYYYY!!
Grab your friends or a good book and head on to a beach near you.
It’s also the perfect opportunity to show off the summer body you’ve been working all year for!
7. Visit an amusement park
A few summers ago, I visited an amusement park in Canada and it was an exhilarating experience.
Yes a teeny bit scary but still fun.
Look up an amusement park near you and bring your friends along for a day of thrilling rides and adventure!
8. Have a movie night under the stars
Set up an outdoor projector and create your own movie theater experience in your backyard with your friends. Don’t forget the popcorn!
9. Go to a music festival or concert
Summer is THE time for live music events.
Look up if some of your fav artists are coming to a venue near you and treat yourself to a ticket to their show!
If it’s still a few months ahead, take that time to prepare a special outfit for the event.
10. Make homemade ice cream
If you’re a loyal customer of ice cream parlors like me but you’ve been wanting to learn to make your own at home, there’s no better time to learn than summer!

Seeking a new challenge? Why not try a new water sport?
Whether jet skiing or surfing, summer is the best time to challenge yourself, sign up for a class and see how the pros do it.
12.Join an outdoor yoga class
Enjoy the benefits of yoga but outside. That way you get to relax, work on your fitness goals and take in some much needed fresh air!
13. Go on a sunset or sunrise hike
Take in the beauty of the sunset or sunrise as you explore your surroundings. Bonus points if you also have a chill playlist to bring along!
14. Take a road trip
Summer is the perfect time for road trips!
Grab your friends, some snacks, your fav songs on repeat and hit the open road!
15. Go on a boat ride
If you can afford it, splurge a little on a lovely cruise.
Or, you could also rent a small boat and take it out for the day with a couple of friends.

I love me a good bonfire.
It’s the perfect time to roast marshmallows, spend some quality time around the fire and share juicy stories with your friends.

Check out if there any plays or musicals in your city this weekend. Or if you live close to New York, why not take a day trip and check out a Broadway production?

Take advantage of the sun and lovely weather, put together some show-stopping outfits and take some pictures with your friends.

23. Go horseback riding
The first time I went horseback riding was a few years ago on a girls’ trip and I absolutely loved it!
It was so relaxing.
I highly recommend you find a stable or a ranch near you and explore the scenery on horseback. You will feel so nice and calm after!
24. Volunteer for a cause you care about
There’s no better way to put a smile on your face than to put one on someone else’s.
This summer, look up some fun ways to give back to your local community. It’s a great way to meet new people, help others and have fun in the process
25. Play beach volleyball

Grab a ball and challenge your friends to a friendly game of beach volleyball. Amateurs and pros are welcome!
26. Take a dance class
Summer vibes are perfect to take some dance classes. Get your heart rate up with a hip hop class or why not learn some spicy new moves with salsa or bachata?
27. Rent a convertible for a day
Woohoo! Rent a fancy convertible for the day if you can afford it, let the top down and have fun cruising around town with the wind blowing in your hair. It’ll look like a scene straight out of the typical summer movie.
